The Jaguar 1 rocket destroyer tank, introduced in the 1970s, was an integral part of the German Bundeswehr. Equipped with the powerful HOT anti-aircraft missile, it was able to effectively engage armored targets at long range. Its high off-road capability made it versatile in various military scenarios. This model kit not only captures the technical aspects of the Jaguar 1, but is also a tribute to its significant role in military history.
The Raketenjagdpanzer Jaguar 1 was a German tracked missile tank destroyer from the Cold War period. The production of vehicles was carried out in the period 1978-1982. The car was powered by an engine diesel MTU MB 837 Aa 500 hp . It was armed with a single HOT Milan anti-tank guided missile launcher and two 7.62 mm MG3 machine guns.
The genesis of the Jaguar 1 vehicle dates back to the early 1960s, when Hanomag and Henschel created the destroyer Raketenjagdpanzer 2 - the first mass-produced tank destroyer with missile weapons in the history of the Bundeswehr. In this case it was the SS-11 ATGM missile. This vehicle turned out to be a successful design, but in the 1970s and early 1980s there was a rapid development guided anti-tank missiles in many NATO countries, which led to the creation of such missiles as TOW and HOT Milan. Decision-makers in the Bundeswehr therefore decided to modernize some of the used cars Raketenjagdpanzer 2 by replacing the SS.11 missiles with HOT Milan and by strengthening the armor of the car, especially in the front. This is how the Raketenjagdpanzer Jaguar 1 was born.
This kit is ideal for advanced modelers (Level 4). It requires experience in gluing and painting models and offers the perfect challenge for model building enthusiasts who want to develop their skills.
