American Coastal Cannon - 1780-1812
Mantua's range of period weapon kits all feature quality hardwood, complete with brass, metal and wood fittings. The wood is all laser cut for accurate assembly and the manual is clear and detailed with comprehensive illustrations. The kits are supplied with a wooden display base complete with a brass engraved nameplate. These static models make excellent display pieces.
This small cannon was influential in the defence of the Eastern Coast of the USA for more than thirty years. Easy to handle, it was ideal for gunnery training and could fire a high volume of explosive balls.

Nice historical gun kit
I received this kit from a good friend. I had always liked ship cannon miniatures so I took my time my time with this kit. Easy to build with a lot of room for scratch building such as the tools; ram rod, worm reamer, powder scoop, lint stock and so on. I even scratch built the bulwalk wall and included the gun port opening. The base is a little tight for this cannon, so you may want to make it a little bigger. Research the proper gun tackle rigging out method and add a few rigging blocks and you'll have a nice scale cannon for your desk top. I would recommend this kit to any one who loves naval firepower both young and old. A very nice kit and the cast cannon is a beauty!!
