LEIDA
Wood Ship Model Kit by Corel
In his Architectura Navalis Mercatoria of 1775, naval architect F.H. Chapman sketched a small Dutch fishing boat, which he had transformed into an elegant pleasure boat. Called "yachts" by the Dutch, these vessels were elaborately decorated. Unlike other ships of the period, they were equipped with side stabilizers. A large triangular spanker tied to a long gaff, supported by the halyard, sloped downward to the base of the main mast.
Corel's plank-on-bulkhead kit features laser cut wooden parts and double planking in lime-wood and walnut. A rich fittings package includes intricately cast metal ornamentation, brass detail parts, ready-to-use boxwood blocks and walnut deadeyes. Two diameters of rigging line, sailcloth, silk-screened pennant, wooden display cradle and nameplate add the finishing touches. Detailed plans and easy instructions help you build a faithful replica.
