AMPHION, WOOD SHIP MODEL KIT BY COREL
The great naval architect F.H. Chapman designed the Amphion in 1778 as a pleasure craft for King Gustavus III of Sweden. But, the king had other ideas. He armed the ship and rigged it as a schooner. Commanding the ship, Gustavus led the Swedes to victory over the Russians at the Battle of Svenksund.
Plank-on-frame wood ship model kit by Corel is double planked in limewood and walnut, with laser-cut wooden keel and frames. Other wooden parts are beech, tanganyka and mahogany. Fitting are rendered in brass, hardwood and gilded metal. Twelve brass swivel guns, rigging line, sailcloth and display base with gilded metal nameplate are all included. Seven sheets of plans and illustrated instruction booklet are also included.
