Model Shipways Basswood Plank-on-Frame Construction Lifeboat 5-3/16" (135mm) 1 per pack

Lifeboat is built upside-down on a set of formers, just like real boats. Kits include keel, sternpost, rudder and basswood strips for framing, ribs, and hull planking. Complete with construction base, plywood parts for building jig and illustrated instructions.

The kit was missing the hull planking and seat risers, 24 pcs, 6"x1/32"x3/32" but Model Shipways has let me order these parts at no cost -- a great service. The instructions require paying close attention, and are in black and white. There are no oars. Expect to spend a lot of time re-reading instructions, and creating and cutting this and that to make it. You'll need stain or paint, x-acto knife, little 1/2" appliqué or sequin pins (seamstress) pins, emery boards, and for glue I prefer the Elmer's all-purpose white glue (different from Elmer's school white glue). p.s. Read the instructions again and again as you go along! I had to.
