THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY
Jackstay eyebolts were bolted through the yard so that their eyes stood up in line several inches above the top of the yard. A rope, and later an iron rod nearly the length of the yard, was passed through the eyes and fastened. Eyebolts were also used on deck, masts and spars for hooking blocks and other fittings.
